Aili Ikonen at Jazz-Espa Opening Day

Welcome to the 20th edition of Jazz-Espa!

Year 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the annual Jazz-Espa concert series. Jazz Finland invites you to celebrate the two decades of presenting the most topical Finnish jazz in free open air concerts in the historical Espa stage. This is a unique concept on an international level, and we hope to maintain it for 20 more years to come!

Jazz-Espa and its sister event Suvilahti Jazz offer once again more than 20 top-notch jazz concerts this upcoming summer. This year, the beloved free shows of the Espa outdoor stage will be organised on 29 July – 3 August, with two concerts taking place every afternoon and one lunch concert at noon. This year will also see the Jazz-Espa 20-year-anniversary opening festival Suvilahti Jazz take over the restaurant ship Merikerho on 28 July.

The concert series and festival feature both, experimental styles and traditional sounds and everything in between. Jazz-Espa has established itself as the highlight of Helsinki’s summery jazz offerings both among tourists and locals. Last year, the concert series was attended by 3,500 listeners.
